The rate at which you speak influences the effectiveness of your presentation. Too fast or too slow and your ability to influence your audience is compromised. Once you know how fast you are speaking you have the ability to determine how many words you need to write for your speech, and when you need to lift up or slow down your speaking rate depending upon what you are trying to achieve with your presentation.
